WEST PALM BEACH, USA (defend.ht) - "I left diSIP because the band has no structure," Conga Drummer Sorel explained the reason for leaving Gazzman and joining Richie's new band, Klass.
The drummer spoke to Kompa! Magazine continuing to say:
"I just don't see a clear future for the band because nobody tells us anything. It just feels as if all the musicians are a backup band for Gazzman, therefore there is no respect, togetherness that is displayed."
Sorel says he did not give the news to entire band but only to his closes confident, Felder.
"I called up Maestro Felder since he was the one who invited me to join the group, and I told him that I was leaving."
"Mwen di'l bay lot neg yo nouvel la pou mwen. Since Gazzman se we li te we mwen vini nan jaz la... li pat vreman di'm anyin. Mwen pat pense mwen te oblije di li anyin tou."
In the K!M post, Sorel continued speaking of Richie:
"Maestro Richie bay miziciens ki avek li yo plus respect. He lets you know what's going on with the band, and what their intentions are in terms of the future, whereas with diSIP... yo pa bay miziciens respect."
"You just play and they give you your money and you don't hear from them for the rest of the week, and that's it. No sense of fraternity, brotherhood in that camp."
"Antouka mwen nan Klass la la."
K!M says that Sorel had an audition earlier while still a member of diSIP and only decided on Sunday to join Klass.
Rumors swirled in late 2011 and early 2012 that Gazzman of diSIP and Richie would have started a band together. It wasn't until March that the two decided to remain in their own bands.
