SEN DOMENG, Repiblik Dominikèn (defend.ht) - Premye Minis-demisyone, Dr Garry Conille, nan Mèkredi rejte akizasyon yo pa gen sèten politisyen dominiken ki te dekri aksyon li kòm yon "ankourajman-kondwi rayi ksenofobik, ak atak rasis," kont Dominiken.
The prime minister, currently auditing a series of contracts signed in May 2011 under the emergency law that followed the earthquake of 2010 said his audit is sound and consistent with "universally accepted rules of transparency and good governance."
Prime Minister Conille finds that in all countries and institutions where emergency laws are in place to expedite transactions, an audit usually follows and stressed in the Dominican paper, Listin jounal that had "had not yet reason to believe that all Dominican companies have violated the laws of the country, in reference to contracts obtained by several foreign companies during the emergency period and which today are the subject of an audit commission."
Conille said that Dominican companies "have worked and are still working satisfactorily" in Haiti, and considered that it is for public bodies responsible for overseeing the procurement of their country, in this case to determine whether there has been any infringement.
In a letter to the editor of the newspaper of Listin Diario, Miguel Franjul, the Haitian official criticized "some malicious politicians" who questioned his "completely healthy" decision to review the contracts signed after the quake, as subject to the "universally accepted rules of transparency and good governance."
Conille said the research was done with no history and based on the good faith of all parties involved. "As we confirm the findings of the preliminary audit report, which are still confidential, foreign companies have not been specifically designated as white. Instead, they are strongly advised to work together with Haitian businesses, "said the prime minister of Haiti.
Conille also said yesterday in his letter to Listin his decision to resign four weeks ago, "was not suggested or requested or required, not required by anyone" in Haiti or the Dominican Republic, and then suggested some sectors.
He added that it was a personal decision linked to points of disagreement with other members of the government on issues that compromised their beliefs and values "transcendental" as respect for the laws and institutions, strengthening the rule of law in Haiti, the administration based on good governance and the obligation of good performance "of accounts.
