Haiti: Two assumed homosexuals beaten to death by protest mob

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - Two persons, assumed to be homosexuals were beaten and killed during an anti-gay protest of a Protestant led coalition of moral and religious organizations on Friday.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - Two persons, assumed to be homosexuals were beaten and killed during an anti-gay protest of a Protestant led coalition of moral and religious organizations on Friday.

According to sources in Haiti, within the protest against marriage (Video) between persons of the same sex, individuals armed with knives (sticks, blocks and other objects) attacked several people, that they accuse him of being homosexual.

On Jean Jacques Dessalines Boulevard, at the Iron Market, at about 1:00 PM in the afternoon, 2 people were beaten to death.

At 4:00 PM when the information was received on the news desk of The Sentinel, it was said that their bodies were still lying on the ground.

It is not clear if officers of the Police Nationale d'Haiti were monitoring the protests but sources said the police arrived on the scene to control the situation but the violence had already taken place.
