PORT -AU- PRINCE , Haiti ( defend.ht ) - Um novo partido político chamado Partido Tet Kale haitiano está registrado no Ministério da Justiça e operacionais , disse o ministro da Justiça Jean Renel Sanon na quinta-feira .
Tet Kale is understood to be the nickname of President Michel Martelly who ran for presidency under the banner of 'Repons Peyizan'. Minister Sanon, a member of the Haitian Tet Kale Party, told Le Nouvelliste that "President Martelly is not a member of PHTK but has affinities with the party."
The lesser known party, Repons Peyizan, besides successfully placing its candidate to the presidency only obtained three seats in the Parliament. The National Coordinator of Repons Peyizan, Marie Evelyne Caesar said to the newspaper she "was not aware steps were being taken to create the Haitian Tet Kale Party." She said "Pati Peyizan is preparing for municipal and departmental elections" and no discussions had taken place to determine whether there would her party would be part of PHTK.
As for Justice Minister Sanon, he said "I had to be in a party, I chose PHTK... this is not incompatible. Every citizen has the right engage in politics," he argued, revealing in passing that Anne Valérie Thimothé Milford, Chief of Staff to President Martelly, will lead PHTK with the support of twenty people, including Yanick Mézil, the Minister for Women and Women's Rights, Antoine Joseph, Yasmine Saba, William Guy, Clémenta Delight.
"This is a center-right party in a liberal, pro-disengagement of the state in the economy for the deep and lasting transformation of the country ... The PHTK filed its papers with 5000 signature members spread all over territory. Accordance with Article 18 of the Decree of 31 July 1986 on political parties, the Department of Justice has a decision within 30 calendar days of granting recognition," said Jean Aly, the Director General at the Ministry of Justice.
Former Senators Joseph Lambert and Youri Latortue
"I did not participate in the implementation of the Party Haitian Tet Kale," said former Senator Joseph Lambert of coordinator Konbit Sides. "As coordinator of Konbit Sides, I'm certainly interested in being part of a platform with the PHTK," said the former member of Lespwa, Inite and adviser to President Martelly.
"There are possibilities for Ayiti An Aksyon to be a part of a platform with the PHTK. But for the moment, we have not yet begun discussions about this," said former Senator Youri Latortue who, like Lambert, also advises the Head of State and is seeking reelection into the senate.
