Haiti: Jacmel, Cayes Airports to Open for International Flights, says Tourism Minister

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti ( - The Minister of Tourism, Stephanie Balmir Villedrouin, while announcing the arrival in March 2012 of a French tourism company said soon the airports of Jacmel and Les Cayes would open for international flights.

It is with cooperation of the French Minister of Tourism, Frederic Lefèbre, that tourism agents from Guadeloupe and Martinique will join to identify Haitian tourism products.

Minister Villedrouin said the airport in Jacmel and Les Cayes will soon be opened to international air traffic. A process registered as part of the efforts to reposition Haiti in the Caribbean for tourism and for decentralization of the country.

The tourism minister who was in the south metropolis during the three days of carnival, also revealed that local attractions have been identified and will be equipped to receive visitors.
