Federation of Teachers Representing 500 Schools Pledge Support for Public Education

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - The Federation of Educators to Save Haiti (FESH) representing 500 schools in Haiti announced on Thursday September 1st their decision to support the free education project by President Michel Martelly.
Many educators and teachers representing more than 500 Haitian private schools across Haiti gave a press conference on Thursday to announce their decision to put themselves together to support free education project of the President of the Republic, Michel Joseph Martelly.
According to one of the leaders of FESH, Jacques Desire, College Daniele Mitterrandâs principal, that educator federation existing over a decade has unconditionally supported the "interesting" project of free education of the President.
When asked about school reopening on October 3rd, the teacher responded that the decision of the first citizen of the nation is almost unchangeable. âThe owners of schools and teaching staff have only to bow to the decision of the Presidencyâ, he said.
