07.07.2013: RNDDH Director Pierre Esperance speaks to Vilner Joseph on Radio Kiskeya, anchored by Lilliane Pierre Paul

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - The Director of the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH), the organization where the testimony against Senator Edwin Zenny and former Senator Joseph Lambert was submitted, defended his organization's integrity on Monday, claiming it has been objective and non-partisan in its handling of the case.

Director Esperance explained that his actions strictly followed protocol. He states that his job is to listen to the plaintiff and to take his statement, not to investigate his claims.

The plaintiff, Sherlson Sanon, the RNDDH director explains, came into the RNDDH office fearing for his life and willing to collaborate with the authorities in exchange for protection. As their organization is not qualified to do anything more than take Sanon’s statement, they had to send it to the designated office.

Pierre Esperance continues to be impartial as he demands protection for Sherlson Sanon because, as a member of the RNDDH organization, his goal is to make sure that justice is served by shedding light on these accusations, and by removing Judge Maximen Pierre from the case. Judge Pierre is said to have worked as a lawyer for a firm of individuals close to individuals in the administration, thus, the two accused.

Senator Edwin Zenny (South East/Inite) and former Senator and Adviser to the President of the Republic, Joseph Lambert, were both cited as conductors of a criminal syndicate of young individuals in a gang called the Kakos.

The accuser, Sherlson Sanon, submitted a notarized testimony to official institutions claiming that Lambert and Zenny both had directed him to to murder, traffic drugs and commit electoral fraud.
